Kerala Chief Minister Defends Congress and Rahul Gandhi as Guardians of Democracy
Kerala CM V.D. Satheesan defends Congress and Rahul Gandhi, calling them protectors of democracy and secularism against BJPs attacks.

New Delhi, September 28 (Daily Kiran) : Kerala Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan asserted on Monday that the Congress party and its leader Rahul Gandhi are the true defenders of democracy and secularism. He challenged BJP leaders, including Rajeev Chandrasekhar, to genuinely claim they stand for secularism while making personal attacks against Gandhi.
Satheesan criticized Chandrasekhar for his derogatory remarks, emphasizing that neither the Congress movement nor Kerala’s civil society will tolerate such behavior. He stated that resorting to baseless accusations and petty rhetoric only reveals political bankruptcy, urging Chandrasekhar to remember that pointing fingers at Gandhi also reflects back on himself.
Concerns have arisen regarding the credibility of the Election Commission and the impartiality of autonomous institutions. Satheesan noted that when the Constitution and democratic institutions are sidelined for communal interests, the courageous opposition from Rahul Gandhi and Congress becomes uncomfortable for the RSS family. He warned that such fascist rhetoric will not distract from the real issues at hand.
The Chief Minister reaffirmed that the ongoing struggle by Rahul Gandhi and the Indian National Congress to protect fundamental rights and ensure equal justice cannot be undermined by threats or pressure. He urged Chandrasekhar and his party to demonstrate their commitment to addressing genuine public concerns rather than relying on hollow claims and anti-people policies.
