Bengaluru, August 1: Karnataka’s Home Minister Priyank Kharge announced on Saturday that there will be no restrictions on wearing religious attire during the upcoming police constable recruitment exam. He urged candidates not to be misled by false information.
Kharge took to social media platform X to state that the Congress government has made extensive preparations to conduct the recruitment exam in a fair, transparent, and organized manner, ensuring the future of the candidates is secure.
He highlighted that the hall tickets for candidates already clearly list what is permitted and what is not. All candidates are advised to strictly adhere to the prescribed dress code and examination guidelines.
Clarifying the rules regarding religious attire, Priyank Kharge mentioned that candidates wishing to wear religious clothing will be allowed, provided they arrive at their examination center two and a half hours before the exam starts to complete the mandatory security and identity verification process.
He stated, “There is no ban on any religious attire. Candidates wearing religious clothing will be allowed to take the exam after completing the necessary security checks.”
Kharge further appealed to all candidates not to be confused and to approach the exam with confidence. He wished success to all candidates participating in the recruitment process.
This clarification comes ahead of the police constable recruitment exam, amid discussions regarding dress code rules at examination centers. The state government assures that the exam will be conducted transparently while adhering to necessary security protocols without imposing restrictions on candidates’ religious attire.
