Chandigarh, May 18: RoundGlass Tennis Academy athlete Karman Kaur Thandi has successfully secured her place in the French Open singles qualifying draw. The tournament commenced on Monday, and Thandi will face Harmony Tan in the first qualifying round. Both players are unseeded in the draw.
Karman earned her spot in this elite qualifying draw thanks to her protected ranking (PR) of 238, which has positioned her at 119th in the official entry list. The protected ranking system assists players in re-entering top-tier tournaments after long breaks due to injuries, enabling India’s former number one player to reclaim her place among the world’s best.
Demonstrating remarkable resilience in overcoming injury challenges, Karman has effectively utilized her protected ranking to compete again with the top players globally.
