Mumbai, August 11: BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has launched a sharp attack on veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah. Amid ongoing debates about Bollywood’s role in student movements, Kangana targeted Shah over his previous comments. In a recent social media post, she referred to him as a “fox” and questioned his loyalty to the nation.
Kangana shared a news article on her Instagram story, which included remarks made by actor Piyush Mishra regarding Shah. The article referenced Shah’s earlier statement, where he likened the silence of major Bollywood figures to the saying about a “dog with a bone.” In her post, Kangana directly criticized Shah.
She stated, “The truth is that everyone is someone’s dog, but I take pride in guarding and fighting for the home (country) that feeds me. While Naseer Sahib eats from this country, he fights for a neighboring nation.”
Kangana further added, “In today’s times, calling someone a dog is a form of praise, as loyalty and innocence are rare. I would prefer to be called a dog than become a ‘fox’ like Naseeruddin Shah.”
This attack from Kangana is linked to Shah’s comments questioning the silence of Bollywood’s big names regarding student protests. When asked why many prominent figures in Bollywood do not speak out during ongoing protests and student movements, Shah remarked, “They will do so when their conscience compels them. There’s a saying: a dog with a bone cannot bark. Only when the bone falls from their mouth or their teeth break will they bark.”
Piyush Mishra responded to Shah’s statement while supporting students protesting issues related to the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC). He referenced Shah’s comments, saying, “Those with bones in their mouths cannot speak. But I want to ask Naseer Sahib, who currently has bones in their mouths? Were you silent because you craved pizza and burgers, or because you were part of a specific crowd? Excuse me, Naseer Sahib, but I am no longer afraid of you.”
