Chennai, March 30: The excitement among audiences surges whenever a sequel to a hit film is announced. One such film is “Kalidas 2,” which is making a comeback after the success of its predecessor. Anticipation is building, and a significant update has just emerged.
The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has granted the film a UA certificate. This means it is fully ready for release in theaters and can be enjoyed by families, although parental guidance is advised for children.
The makers shared this news along with the film’s release date through a social media post. “Kalidas 2” is scheduled to hit the big screen on April 3.
Recently, the filmmakers unveiled a special update featuring the first look of actor Kishore, who will portray a character named ‘Pandya.’ His look in the poster is depicted as dangerous and mysterious. The makers have described his character as ‘raw,’ ‘rough,’ and ‘unpredictable.’
This film is the sequel to the blockbuster “Kalidas,” which was released years ago. It is produced by K. Senthil and Dr. N. Yogeshwaran. Notably, Senthil also wrote and directed this installment, having helmed the first part as well. This gives audiences hope that the sequel will be just as powerful.
The film stars Bharat and Ajay Karthik in lead roles, with Bhavani Sri, Sangeeta, and T.M. Karthik among the ensemble cast. Sangeeta’s return to the big screen after a long hiatus promises to bring a unique thrill for viewers.
As for the teaser, it is filled with chilling and emotional scenes. It features Bharat as a police officer receiving a call from a terrified woman seeking help.
A voiceover in the teaser states that every crime has its punishment, but in some cases, the consequences come in unexpected ways.
