New Delhi, April 9: Voting for the assembly elections in Kerala, Assam, and Puducherry commenced at 7 AM on Thursday. Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda has urged the citizens of these three states to actively participate in the voting process and engage in this grand festival of democracy.
In a post on social media platform X, Minister Nadda stated, “Voting is taking place in Assam today, and I request all my brothers and sisters, especially our young voters, to come out in large numbers and exercise their democratic rights. Your vote is your voice. It strengthens our collective resolve to protect the state from infiltration and safeguard the interests of our indigenous communities. Assam is progressing peacefully and reaching new heights of development. This momentum must continue. Go out, vote for strong leadership, and encourage others to do the same.”
He also appealed to the people of Kerala to participate in the voting process, saying, “Voting is taking place in Kerala today, and I urge all registered voters to actively engage in the electoral process in record numbers. Voting is not just a right; it is a responsibility we all share. Kerala has faced years of misgovernance and corruption, and today presents an opportunity to choose a better future. Your vote can bring about change and help secure a government that truly works for the people. Make sure to cast your vote and encourage your family and friends to do the same.”
Nadda continued, “Elections are also happening in Puducherry today, and I request every voter to participate in this democratic process. From infrastructure to welfare and increasing opportunities, Puducherry is on the right track. Your vote will help continue this journey. Ensure that you vote and play your part in shaping Puducherry’s future.”
Meanwhile, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal also made an appeal, stating, “My brothers and sisters in Kerala, today you have the chance to determine the future direction of your state. Your vote will decide how this beautiful southern state contributes to the nation’s growth story, how the youth will have opportunities to advance, innovate, and lead. It will also determine how women, farmers, fishermen, artisans, and others benefit from good governance and how every family can enjoy a better quality of life. I request you to come out in large numbers and raise your voice through your vote.”
Goyal extended his appeal to the citizens of Puducherry and Assam as well, emphasizing that their votes will shape the future of Puducherry. “Every vote matters, and every voice counts in building a strong tomorrow. I urge all voters to exercise their rights and vote for the growth and development of Puducherry.”
