Thiruvananthapuram, March 7: CPI(M) MP John Brittas has launched a sharp attack on Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition and a senior Congress figure, in the Lok Sabha. Brittas claimed that whenever Gandhi visits Kerala, his sole agenda is to demand the arrest of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
Brittas shared a video on social media where Rahul Gandhi stated that central investigative agencies take action against opposition parties but refrain from acting against the Kerala Chief Minister and his family.
In his post accompanying the video on the platform X, Brittas remarked that whenever Rahul Gandhi visits Kerala, he consistently pushes for the arrest of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
He further noted that Gandhi fails to clarify what exactly the Chief Minister has done to warrant arrest by the ED or CBI. Despite this, Gandhi repeatedly calls for Vijayan’s arrest, echoing old, unfounded allegations that often resemble accusations made by the BJP against the left.
Brittas raised the question of why, if Rahul Gandhi has been interrogated for hours by the ED in cases like the National Herald case, he has not been arrested. Is there a secret collusion with BJP leadership? Additionally, he questioned what has happened regarding cases linked to Gandhi’s brother-in-law, whose companies allegedly made significant donations to the BJP through electoral bonds, subsequently receiving clean chits in controversial deals.
Brittas asserted that it is well-known that Congress and BJP colluded to fabricate the alleged Delhi excise scam, targeting Arvind Kejriwal and leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party. This is viewed as a political conspiracy aimed at weakening the AAP and ensuring a BJP victory in Delhi.
He concluded by questioning whether Rahul Gandhi still has any moral authority to speak against the BJP when many Congress leaders appear to benefit the party. This is seen as an example of double standards and political hypocrisy. Kerala will provide the answer.
