Chandigarh, September 2: A significant opportunity has arisen for job seekers at the Punjab-Haryana High Court. The court has announced openings for 25 driver positions and 31 peon positions through official notifications on its website.
Among the 25 vacancies for the driver role, there are 21 for the general category, 3 for SC/ST/BC, and 1 for ex-servicemen. For the peon positions, 26 are allocated for the general category, 3 for SC/ST/BC, and 2 for ex-servicemen.
The online application process commenced on August 28 at 11:59 PM and will close on September 18 at 11:59 PM. Interested candidates can complete their registration on the Punjab-Haryana High Court’s official website before the deadline.
Candidates applying for the driver position must have completed at least the 12th grade from a recognized board/institution/university and should have studied either Punjabi or Hindi in their matriculation. Additionally, applicants must possess a valid ‘Light Motor Vehicle (LMV)’ license and have at least two years of driving experience. For the peon role, knowledge of Hindi and the regional language is essential.
The maximum age limit for applicants for both positions is set at 35 years, calculated as of September 18, 2026. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations.
Selection for the driver position will be based on shortlisting, a practical test, and an interview. For the peon role, candidates will be selected based on application scrutiny, interview performance, and a physical endurance test (PET).
Applicants must pay a prescribed application fee based on their category and position. For the driver role, the fee is ₹1,000 for general and SC/ST/BC candidates from regions outside Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh; ₹800 for SC/ST/BC candidates from Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh; and ₹800 for ex-servicemen. For the peon position, the fee is ₹700 for general and SC/ST/BC candidates from outside these regions; ₹600 for SC/ST/BC candidates from Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh; and ₹600 for ex-servicemen.
