JKPSC Recruitment Alert: Apply for 205 Positions Including Assistant Professor

Srinagar, August 30: A significant opportunity has emerged for youth preparing for government jobs and awaiting vacancy announcements. The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has announced openings for a total of 205 positions, including Assistant Professors, College Directors of Physical Education and Sports, and Librarians in government degree colleges under the Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir.

The last date to apply for these positions is set for August 31.

The vacancies announced by JKPSC include 192 Assistant Professors, 9 College Directors of Physical Education and Sports, and 4 Librarians. The breakdown of the 192 Assistant Professor positions is as follows: 1 in Arabic, 2 in Biochemistry, 24 in Botany, 27 in Chemistry, 1 in Clinical Biochemistry, 7 in Commerce, 2 in Computer Applications, 2 in Dogri, 7 in Economics, 10 in Education, 1 in Electronics, 14 in English, 1 in Functional English, 10 in Geography, 2 in Hindi, 6 in History, 6 in Home Science, 1 in Islamic Studies, 8 in Mathematics, 2 in Music, 22 in Physics, 1 in Philosophy, 6 in Political Science, 2 in Psychology, 2 in Statistics, 4 in Urdu, and 21 in Zoology.

The online application process for these positions began on August 1, with the final date for submission set for August 31. Candidates interested in applying can complete their registration on the official JKPSC website before or by the deadline. Additionally, a window for correcting any errors in the application form will be available from September 1 to September 3.

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree or Ph.D. in the relevant subject from a recognized institution or university, with at least 55% marks. Candidates should have obtained their Master’s degree before September 19, 1991. Furthermore, passing the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by UGC or CSIR, or a similar test recognized by UGC, is mandatory.

The maximum age limit for applicants is set at 40 years, calculated as of January 1, 2026. Candidates from reserved categories will receive age relaxation as per regulations.

Selection of eligible candidates will be based on scrutiny of applications, written exams, document verification, and other stages. The selected candidates will receive a monthly salary ranging from ₹57,700 to ₹1,82,400, along with additional benefits and allowances.

While filling out the application form, candidates must pay the prescribed application fee online, which is ₹1,200 for the general category and ₹700 for reserved categories. PHC candidates are exempt from the registration fee.
