Ranchi, May 18: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren distributed appointment letters to 319 trained assistant teachers and 17 female supervisors during a state ceremony held at the Project Bhawan in Ranchi on Monday.
During the event, the Chief Minister highlighted that over 9,000 teachers have been recruited in the education department alone in the past four months. He announced that thousands of new positions will be filled across various government departments in the next two to four months.
Soren urged the newly appointed candidates to view their government jobs as a responsibility to contribute to societal and state development, rather than just a means of earning a salary. He specifically appealed to the new teachers to serve in rural and remote areas.
The Chief Minister noted that there are frequent complaints about some teachers hesitating to go to distant villages, where the need is greatest. He claimed that his government has made between 150,000 to 200,000 appointments so far, but there are still many positions that require filling.
In his address, Soren also identified malnutrition as a significant challenge in the state. He emphasized the crucial role that female supervisors and teachers will play in addressing issues like malnutrition.
The government aims to cultivate a generation that is healthy, educated, and self-reliant. He shared progress on the government’s social security schemes, stating that approximately 5 to 6 million women in the state receive direct financial assistance every month under the ‘Manniyan Samman Yojana’ scheme.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Radha Krishna Kishore and Minister Sanjay Yadav, who were present at the ceremony, also addressed the newly appointed personnel. They emphasized that with the receipt of appointment letters, the responsibility of guiding society now rests on the shoulders of the youth.
