
Ranchi, May 1: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren successfully completed the ‘self-enumeration‘ process for Census 2027 on Friday at his residential office on Kanke Road.
His wife and legislator, Kalpana Soren, was also present during this significant event. After completing the process, the Chief Minister urged all residents of Jharkhand to recognize their vital responsibility in this national campaign and to actively participate with enthusiasm. Senior officials from the Census Directorate briefed the Chief Minister on the technical and detailed procedures for registering on the online self-enumeration portal.
Officials informed that the self-enumeration process will be conducted digitally from May 1 to May 15. Following this, physical house listing and enumeration will take place across the state from May 16 to June 14. During this campaign, enumerators and associated staff will collect data door-to-door, and administrative preparations have been completed in all districts.
Emphasizing the importance of the census, Chief Minister Soren stated that it is not merely about collecting numbers; rather, it serves as a solid foundation for guiding the future of the general populace. He noted that accurate census data would significantly aid the state government in delivering welfare schemes more effectively and transparently to eligible individuals.
The Chief Minister suggested that officials include personnel knowledgeable in regional languages in this crucial task to avoid communication barriers and maintain data accuracy. He praised the technical initiatives of Census 2027, calling it a commendable step, and urged all state residents to contribute to the success of this campaign. Present at the event were Prabhat Kumar, Director of the Census Directorate, Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Manjunath Bhajantri, and Municipal Commissioner Sushant Gaurav, along with several senior officials.
