New Delhi, May 10: In the IPL 2026 standings, Gujarat Titans (GT) have secured the second position. They achieved a significant victory over Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 77 runs in Jaipur on Saturday, enhancing their net run rate. This marks GT’s fourth consecutive win, largely thanks to all-rounder Jason Holder’s contributions.
Since joining GT’s playing XI, Holder has bolstered the team’s strength. GT has been on a winning streak, with Holder playing a pivotal role in both bowling and batting. GT’s assistant coach, Parthiv Patel, acknowledged Holder’s impact.
Parthiv stated in an interview with Jio Hotstar, “During our auction planning, we were determined to acquire Jason Holder. He has excelled in T20 cricket globally over the past 12 to 18 months. He is an experienced player with leadership qualities.”
He added that while they initially gave Glenn Phillips a chance due to his good form, Holder’s inclusion in recent matches has proven vital for the team. “We brought Holder in at the right time, and it has shifted the momentum in our favor,” Parthiv noted.
In the victory against RR, Holder played a crucial role with the ball, taking 3 wickets for just 12 runs in 2.3 overs. So far this season, he has scored 47 runs in 4 innings across 5 matches, facing 34 balls. Additionally, he has claimed 10 wickets in the same number of matches. Beyond his bowling and batting, Holder has also excelled as a fielder. His presence has strengthened the team’s middle-over bowling and lower-order batting.
