Srinagar, March 10: The Jammu and Kashmir government has dismissed three employees from the Jal Shakti Department due to their involvement in anti-national and terrorist activities.
According to an order issued by the Jal Shakti Department, Shaukat Ahmad Zargar, a temporary employee from Bijbehara in Anantnag district, has been terminated. His dismissal stems from his involvement in a case registered in 2019. Following the filing of a charge sheet related to alleged terrorist activities and conspiracy, the case is currently under hearing.
In separate orders, the government also dismissed temporary employees Liaqat Ali Bhagat and Kausar Hussain Bhagat from Kishtwar district for their alleged involvement in anti-national activities. Charges have been filed against them under the UAPA, with a charge sheet already submitted, and the case is pending. The termination orders state that these actions were taken in the interest of the administration.
Notably, on March 9, the Jammu and Kashmir police conducted a significant operation in Shopian, seizing a two-story residential property acquired through illegal drug trafficking. The estimated value of the property is around ₹5,521,189. This property belonged to Ghulam Mohammad Khande, a resident of the Zarkan Keller area.
During the investigation, police discovered that the property was built using funds obtained from the illegal sale of drugs and narcotics. Subsequently, police acted under legal provisions to seize the property. This action was taken in connection with a case registered at the Keller police station.
