Amaravati, September 10 (Daily Kiran) : Former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and YSR Congress Party leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy reiterated his call for the resignation of Education Minister Nara Lokesh and a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the alleged irregularities surrounding the DSC 2025 recruitment process. He claimed that unprecedented irregularities had occurred, allowing candidates who did not even take the exam to secure jobs.
During a press conference at the YSRCP central office in Tadepalli, Jagan raised questions about the silence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Lokesh regarding the opposition’s concerns over the DSC recruitment process. He asserted that multiple discrepancies were emerging in the recruitment of teachers through DSC 2025.
Jagan accused the government of intentionally undermining the investigation into the DSC scam. He questioned why Naidu was trying to protect his son and alleged that the government was jeopardizing the lives and futures of unemployed youth.
He asked, “Why was the responsibility for preparing and overseeing the DSC exam papers given to one individual? Why were Government Orders 4 and 47 issued? Why were these orders changed after the recruitment process was completed?”
Jagan also inquired how 372 positions under the sports quota were filled without examinations. He noted that Government Orders 4 and 47 opened the door for irregularities, which were later attempted to be closed with subsequent orders.
He explained that jobs were awarded without adhering to established rules and procedures. Following the exposure of the DSC scam, the coalition government halted APPSC examinations that were intended to follow the same flawed recruitment methods.
Jagan claimed, “Candidates were given jobs based on participation certificates for tournaments that never occurred.” He described the DSC as a major scandal in Naidu’s list of corrupt practices, adding, “With each passing day, more shocking truths about DSC 2025 are emerging.”
He stated that CM Naidu was making every effort to suppress the issue to protect his son, while officials had no answers to defend the allegations. The claim that verification was conducted seven times before job offers seemed laughable to him.
Jagan accused Naidu and Lokesh of misleading the assembly to cover up the matter. Providing detailed examples, he illustrated how jobs were awarded under the sports quota without examinations. According to him, “39 jobs were given under the sports quota; some candidates provided certificates for tournaments that never even took place in Khammam—this has been confirmed by the Telangana Judo Association. Moreover, fake certificates were issued by the AP Judo Association, whose president is Lokesh’s brother-in-law, Bharat.”
He further pointed out instances where individuals were hired as a “family pack” under the sports quota based on medals claimed from a non-existent kho-kho championship. The Telangana Kho-Kho Association confirmed that such an event never took place.
Jagan highlighted that a candidate named Prabhakar from Kurnool was hired without taking the TET exam. He should have received 75 marks based on his reservation quota but was given only 65 marks and still secured a job. Officials defended this by claiming he had taken the exam multiple times, but discrepancies were evident in the categorization.
He emphasized that the scandal began when the responsibility for preparing the question bank and conducting the exam was assigned to a single individual. Irregularities became apparent when a person hired through outsourcing received the exam paper, achieved the top rank, and was subsequently removed from the merit list. Although audio and video evidence existed regarding the job offers, appropriate actions were not taken.
Jagan concluded by stating, “This entire process has adversely affected the youth who are diligently preparing for competitive exams. Such negligence from the government will only lead to chaos and irregularities.”
