Israel Claims Attacks on Over 120 Iranian Targets in 24 Hours

Tel Aviv, April 5: The Israeli military announced on Sunday that it has conducted strikes on more than 120 Iranian targets within the last 24 hours. According to the military, these attacks targeted sites associated with ballistic missiles, drones, and air defense systems. Meanwhile, Iran claimed to have shot down a U.S. C-130 aircraft.

The military reported that missile sites, drone storage, and launch locations belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in western and central Iran were also destroyed.

In a statement on the social platform X, the military said, “The Air Force attacked over 120 targets in central and western Iran.”

“The targets included sites for ballistic missile arrays in the Revolutionary Guards, storage and launch sites for UAVs, and air defense locations.”

On the other hand, Iran reiterated its claim of having downed a U.S. C-130 helicopter in Isfahan. According to the Fars News Agency, this helicopter was involved in a mission to locate a missing American airman.

Reports suggest that the aircraft was targeted and destroyed by Iran’s police commando unit, the Faraj Rangers. The agency also stated that the aircraft was engaged in refueling operations for attackers. However, this claim has not been independently verified.

The Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) released images on social media, asserting that they depict the wreckage of the aircraft involved in the airman search.

Additionally, on Sunday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagheri Ghalibaf posted a picture on X, claiming it to be the wreckage of the U.S. aircraft.

These images were shared following U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement regarding the rescue of the missing airman. Trump stated that the airman was safely recovered through a special operation.

He remarked, “We have rescued him. In the past few hours, the U.S. military has conducted one of the most daring search and rescue operations in its history.”
