Ishan Kishan Celebrates Indian Cricket Teams Gold Medal Victory at Asian Games

Nishin, October 3 (Daily Kiran) : In Nishin, on October 3, Ishan Kishan expressed his joy after the Indian cricket team secured the gold medal by defeating their biggest rivals, Pakistan, in the final of the 2026 Asian Games. Kishan emphasized that this victory belongs not just to the team but to the entire country. He dedicated his gold medal to all Indians, acknowledging the support and encouragement from fans that contributed to their success in the multi-sport event.

India retained the gold medal in men’s cricket by defeating Pakistan by 19 runs at the Kurogi Sports Park on Saturday. This victory marks India’s 19th gold medal in the continental event. After the match, Kishan stated in an interview, “This is significant because, as I mentioned, when we win a medal, especially at the Asian Games, it’s not just our victory but the entire country’s victory. Everyone wins, as we played with the blessings of all and won this match. It feels incredible.”

He further added, “This is a win for all of India. As I said, when you compete in the Asian Games or the Olympics, it’s not just about individual achievements. It’s about the triumph of the entire nation, and I always hope that whatever we win, all of India enjoys it.”

The Indian team, led by Shreyas Iyer, opted to bat first and set a score of 211/6. Key contributions came from left-handed batsmen Abhishek Sharma, who scored 61, and Tilak Varma, who added 51 runs. Shivam Dube also played a crucial role with a score of 27.

Pakistan began their chase strongly but lost crucial wickets at key moments. Despite a valiant effort from Hasan Nawaz, who scored an impressive 96 runs off 51 balls, Pakistan fell short by 19 runs. Washington Sundar and Axar Patel each took two wickets, sealing a memorable victory for India.

Kishan’s father, Pranav Kumar Pandey, spoke to the media about the team’s hard work, stating, “This is the result of all the players’ hard work. Everyone put in a great effort, and we achieved victory. Cricket is a team game, so we cannot credit any one individual. Each player performed well and took responsibility in their roles. Whenever the team needed support, all players stood by each other.”

Tourist Rohit Agarwal, visiting from Srinagar, praised the Indian team’s performance, highlighting Abhishek Sharma’s brilliant batting and Tilak Varma’s aggression against Pakistan’s bowlers. He noted that Pakistan’s losing streak against India in major tournaments continues, asserting that India remains unbeatable against Pakistan and will continue to be so in the future.
