IPL 2026: SRH Wins Toss Against RR, Pat Cummins Returns to Action

Jaipur, April 25: In the 36th match of IPL 2026, the Rajasthan Royals (RR) are set to clash with the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Sawai Mansingh Cricket Stadium. SRH captain Pat Cummins won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Sunrisers Hyderabad made two changes to their playing eleven for this match. Pat Cummins returns to the team, replacing Madushanka, while Prabhul Hinge comes in for Harsh Dubey. After winning the toss, Cummins stated, “We will bowl first. The wicket looks good; let’s see what target we get to chase. I feel really refreshed; it’s been a while, my preparation has been good, and my body feels fine. We know the pitch well here in Hyderabad. This is both teams’ first game here, so it will be a challenge. I am coming in for Dilshan Madushanka, and Hinge is playing instead of Harsh.”

Rajasthan Royals did not make any changes to their playing eleven. After losing the toss, captain Riyan said, “We also wanted to bowl first. However, we have performed well while chasing runs in the last few seasons. There’s no issue with batting first. We know the wicket very well. We had our camp here. There might be some dew, but not too much. Our middle-order batsmen will need to step up and perform well.”

So far in IPL 2026, Sunrisers Hyderabad has played seven matches, winning four and losing three. SRH has shown impressive form in their last three matches, securing victories. Abhishek Sharma has been in excellent form, scoring 135 runs off 68 balls in the last match against Delhi Capitals.

However, Travis Head has struggled this season. Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen have also contributed significantly with the bat. In bowling, Ishan Malinga is in great form, having taken four wickets in the last match against Delhi Capitals. Meanwhile, Nitish Kumar Reddy has also bowled well.

On the other hand, under Riyan Parag’s captaincy, Rajasthan Royals have performed remarkably this season, winning five out of seven matches, while losing two. Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been consistently scoring runs. Ravindra Jadeja has made crucial contributions with both bat and ball. The duo of Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger has excelled in both powerplay and death overs, while Ravi Bishnoi’s spinning deliveries have troubled many batsmen.

Rajasthan Royals’ playing eleven: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Suryavanshi, Dhruv Jurel (wicketkeeper), Riyan Parag (captain), Shimron Hetmyer, Donovan Ferreira, Ravindra Jadeja, Jofra Archer, Tushar Deshpande, Nandre Burger, and Brijesh Sharma.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s playing eleven: Abhishek Sharma, Ishan Kishan, Heinrich Klaasen, Salil Arora (wicketkeeper), Aniket Verma, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Pat Cummins (captain), Shivang Kumar, Saqib Hussain, Prabhul Hinge, and Ishan Malinga.
