International Yoga Day celebrated in Bangladesh

The Indian High Commission in Dhaka conducted live online Yoga workshops to celebrate the occasion.  

As part of efforts to spread awareness of the benefits of yoga, the Ministry of AYUSH, and Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) launched ‘My Life My Yoga’ Video Blogging Competition.

People of Bangladesh participated with great enthusiasm in the Bangladesh edition of the Competition for which the High Commission of India received a large number of entries.

Greeting people on the occasion of the International Yoga Day, High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Riva Ganguly Das said that the ancient practice of Yoga has now gained global popularity.

In her message she said that the Yogic exercises can help in boosting our immunity.

The Information Minister of Bangladesh Hasan Mahmud in his message on the International Yoga Day urged everyone to practice Yoga to stay safe and combat COVID 19 pandemic.

Bangladesh chapter of the Art of Living foundation also organised an online programme of Yoga. It will continue with the Yoga programme till June 24.
