International Flights Canceled from Kolkata Amid Rising Middle East Tensions

Kolkata, March 6: Rising tensions in the Middle East are having a noticeable impact on international flights. On Friday, several international flights were canceled from Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport.

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) officially announced that due to the ongoing tensions between Iran, Israel, and the United States, multiple flights were canceled between 8 PM on March 6, 2026, and 8 AM on March 7, 2026. Airlines made this decision for safety and operational reasons to ensure the well-being of passengers and the integrity of aviation operations.

Reports indicate that numerous major airlines operating flights to various cities in the Middle East from Kolkata have been affected. Air Arabia’s flight 3L-0167, scheduled to depart for Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport, has been canceled. Similarly, Etihad Airways’ flights EY-0220, arriving from Abu Dhabi, and EY-0221, departing to Abu Dhabi, have also been scrapped.

Additionally, Qatar Airways flights QR-0540, coming from Doha, and QR-0541, heading to Doha’s Hamad International Airport, have been canceled. Emirates flights EK-0571, departing for Dubai, and EK-0570, arriving from Dubai, are also part of this cancellation list. In total, seven flights have been canceled.

The Airports Authority has urged passengers to check with their airlines regarding the status of their flights if they were scheduled to travel to any city in the Middle East. They also advised travelers to verify flight status before heading to the airport to avoid any inconvenience.
