India’s longest ‘ropeway over a river’ inaugurated today

Built at a cost of 56 crore, the ropeway comprises of two cabins, each with capacity of 30 passengers and one operator.

The ropeway is connecting Guwahati to North Guwahati and the two ends of the ropeway will be operated from Kachari ghat in Guwahati and the Dol Govinda temple in North Guwahati.

Inaugurating the ropeway Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma said this is one of the most advanced and longest river crossing Aerial Tramway systems in India.
