New Delhi, September 14 (Daily Kiran) : The Indian women’s cricket team has been showered with congratulations from President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla after their remarkable victory in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026. The team triumphed over Sri Lanka in the final held at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
President Murmu took to social media to express her admiration, stating, “Congratulations to all members of Team India for winning the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026. They showcased exceptional teamwork throughout the tournament and emerged victorious in every match. In the final match, Sri Lanka was set a daunting target of 184 runs by India but was bowled out for just 111 runs, giving India a 72-run victory and securing the Women’s Asia Cup title for the eighth time.
