Valencia, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : The Indian Navy’s formidable warship, INS Trishul, has docked in Valencia, Spain, as part of its ongoing deployment in the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and surrounding maritime areas. This stopover is more than just a port visit; it presents an opportunity for Indian and Spanish naval personnel to share professional experiences and engage in various operational activities.
During its stay in Valencia, the two navies will participate in ship tours, sports, and cultural programs. These activities aim to strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation between the naval forces of both countries. By sharing experiences related to maritime operations, the navies can gain insights into each other’s operational methodologies.
Notably, this journey of INS Trishul comes at a time when the Indian Navy is actively enhancing its maritime ties with friendly nations. Recently, the warship participated in the 24th edition of Exercise Varuna in Toulon, France, alongside the French Navy. This exercise included both port and maritime phases, featuring a range of professional activities.
The Valencia stop is part of a broader maritime campaign that showcases the Indian Navy’s operational readiness, maritime reach, and growing collaboration with allied navies. Defense experts emphasize that such missions extend beyond mere presence at sea. They foster closer ties among foreign navies, provide opportunities for experience sharing, and strengthen cooperation in creating a safe and stable maritime environment.
This commitment to collaboration was also evident during the bilateral maritime exercise Varuna between India and France, which symbolizes the robust maritime partnership between the two nations. INS Trishul’s participation in Exercise Varuna included operations with NH90 helicopters and Atlantic-2 maritime patrol aircraft, focusing on anti-submarine warfare, surface target operations, and live firing exercises. These activities significantly enhanced operational capability, coordination, and mutual understanding between the two navies.
