Ahmedabad, March 7: The T20 World Cup 2026 final between India and New Zealand is set to take place on Sunday at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Prithvi Shaw’s childhood coach, Santosh Pingulkar, is hopeful that Team India will clinch the title.
Coach Pingulkar stated, “The final match between India and New Zealand is undoubtedly a significant event, especially since New Zealand has never defeated India in major matches. The Indian team is very strong. While some batsmen are not performing well, Sanju Samson has proven himself. The team has players capable of winning matches.”
Reflecting on India’s previous semi-final against England, he noted, “India’s bowling was quite ordinary in the semi-final. However, the outcome of any match depends on the pitch and the bowlers’ rhythm on that day. Throughout the tournament, both batsmen and bowlers have contributed. In the semi-final, the bowlers played a crucial role. Our players are full of confidence. India will win this World Cup.”
Young players training under Santosh Pingulkar are confident that Team India will take home the World Cup. They have high hopes for players like Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah.
One fan expressed, “The Indian team is in fantastic form right now. If India bats first in the final, the openers must provide a strong start. The middle order needs to maintain that momentum. Indian bowlers must bowl accurately and take wickets to secure the win.”
Another fan added, “If India wins the toss, they should choose to bat first. Even though Abhishek Sharma is not in form, if he settles in, he can score runs. Sanju Samson is also in excellent form. We will definitely defeat New Zealand in the final.”
