Visakhapatnam, 6 December (Daily Kiran) – India finally won the toss after 21 One Day Internationals and chose to bowl first in the third and decisive ODI against South Africa. Captain KL Rahul, who tossed the coin with his left hand this time, was fortunate as the team’s decision aligned with conditions at Visakhapatnam, where dew was expected to settle late.

To strengthen the batting lineup, Team India made a change by including Tilak Verma in place of Washington Sundar. Washington had bowled only seven overs across the last two matches, prompting the team to prefer an extra batsman. However, this adjustment means India does not have a sixth bowling option in the playing XI.

South Africa was forced to make two changes due to hamstring injuries sustained by Nandre Burger and Tony de Zorzi in the second ODI. Ryan Rickelton and Ottneil Bartman have been brought into the squad as replacements. South Africa aims to achieve a rare double by winning both the Test and ODI series on this tour.

The playing XIs are as follows –

India: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ruturaj Gaikwad, KL Rahul (Captain & Wicketkeeper), Tilak Verma, Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna.

South Africa: Ryan Rickelton, Quinton de Kock (Wicketkeeper), Temba Bavuma (Captain), Matthew Breetzke, Aiden Markram, Dewald Brevis, Marco Jansen, Corbin Bosch, Keshav Maharaj, Lungi Ngidi, Ottneil Bartman.
