Dubai, May 11: The ICC has released the latest men’s ODI rankings, confirming India remains at the top. However, their lead has diminished. Pakistan has dropped one position in the rankings.
India’s rating has decreased from 119 to 118. Meanwhile, New Zealand has gained two points, now holding a rating of 113 and sitting in second place. The gap between the top two teams has narrowed from eight to just five points.
Current ODI World Cup champions Australia have maintained their rating at 109, remaining in third place. There has been a shift in the top five, with South Africa climbing one spot to fourth after gaining four rating points, bringing their total to 102. Pakistan, having lost four points, has fallen to fifth with 98 points.
Despite losing two points, Sri Lanka remains in sixth place with 96 points. Afghanistan has slightly dropped to seventh with 93 points. England, after gaining one rating point, holds the eighth position, while Bangladesh stays in ninth with 84 points.
The gap between Bangladesh and the tenth-placed West Indies has widened significantly. The Caribbean team has lost three rating points, now at 74. Outside the top ten, Ireland has climbed to eleventh after gaining two rating points, surpassing Zimbabwe, which has dropped to twelfth after losing one point.
The United States has moved up to thirteenth place, overtaking Scotland, with a rating now at 46. Scotland has slipped down one position after losing a point.
Further down the table, the Netherlands recorded one of the strongest gains in the ranking update, adding four points to reach 44, while Oman has reached 33 points. Nepal has fallen four points to twenty-fifth, while Namibia has made a slight improvement to reach twenty-third.
With India’s continued dominance in both ODI and T20 cricket, Australia currently leads the ICC men’s Test rankings. Australia also holds the top position in both women’s ODI and T20 team rankings.
