India, Australia make five announcements, ink four agreements, joint statement awaited

New Delhi, March 21 : India and Australia made five announcements and inked four agreements following the virtual summit meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Australian PM Scott Morrison today, though the release of the joint statement is still awaited. The list of documents announced/signed during the virtual summit include: Announcement of Establishment of Annual Summit between India and Australia Announcement of Establishment of the General Rawat India-Australia Young Defence Officers’ Exchange Programme 3. Announcement of Return of artefacts by Government of Australia 4. Announcement of Similar Tax benefits for investments by Australia’s sovereign and pension funds in India as in Australia 5. Signing of MoU on Co-Investment in Australian Critical Minerals Projects between Khanij Bidesh India Ltd. (KABIL), India and Critical Minerals Facilitation Office (CMFO), Australia. 6. Signing of Letter of Intent regarding Migration and Mobility Partnership Agreement 7. Signing of Letter of Arrangement between India and Australia for Educational Qualifications Recognition 8. Signing of MoU for cooperation and collaboration on broadcasting between Prasar Bharati, India and Special Broadcasting Service (SBS), Australia 9. Announcement of Joint Statement is Awaited 10. Announcement of Matching funds as Australia of the amount of AUD 10 million or approx. rupees 56 crores for Pacific Island Countries under Infrastructure for Resilient Island States (IRIS) – 11.
