Islamabad, March 27 : Days after the no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan was adjourned, thousand of supporters of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) gathered in Islamabad on Sunday to attend the “Amr bil Maroof” public meeting. The PM said, “Today is a battle for Pakistan and not for PTI.” He also urged the masses to leave early so that they can reach their destination on time, The International reported. On March 24, he had called for a public meeting on March 27 against the “group of bandits” who had been “looting the country for past 30 years”. Meanwhile, the supporters of Jamiat Ulema-e Islam Pakistan (JUI-F) under the banner of the opposition alliance PDM have reached the Srinagar Highway. According to Dawn, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz, along with Punjab opposition leader Hamza Shehbaz have led her party caravan via GT Road to the capital, calling it the last nail in the coffin of the PTI government. However, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has warned the JUI-F will not be allowed to hold protest in Islamabad. He further said that action will be taken against the opposition parties if they attempt entering the Red Zone. Dawn quoted a PTI spokesperson as saying that the media professionals would not be allowed to use professional cameras to record the event as “cameras pose security risk” but they can use their mobile phones for footage and photos.
