Tel Aviv, March 9: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have launched a significant operation against Hezbollah, targeting over 600 militant sites. Reports indicate that in the past week, the IDF utilized 820 weapons to conduct air, sea, and ground strikes across Lebanon, resulting in the elimination of more than 190 militants, including senior commanders such as Abu Hamza Rami of the PIJ.
The IDF confirmed that 27 strikes were executed in Beirut, with five specifically targeting the Dahieh area.
Previously, the IDF issued a fresh warning to residents south of the Litani River, citing ongoing military actions due to Hezbollah’s activities. The military emphasized that proximity to Hezbollah’s positions or weaponry poses a danger to civilian lives.
In a statement on the official social media platform X, the IDF remarked, “Due to Hezbollah’s terrorist activities, the Israel Defense Forces are compelled to act against the organization in the area. Our intention is not to harm you, but any movement towards the south could endanger your life.”
Amid the ongoing conflict with Iran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that soldiers embarked on a special mission on Friday night. This operation is linked to the search for a soldier who went missing 40 years ago. Netanyahu shared on social media that the brave warriors set out to locate and bring home Ron Arad, who was captured in Lebanon nearly four decades ago.
He stated, “We have been tirelessly working towards this goal for many years.”
