New Delhi, May 4: In a significant political shift, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is set to form governments in West Bengal, Assam, and Puducherry. BJP leaders are celebrating the favorable election results. Senior party officials shared their reactions with news agencies regarding this victory.
Former Air Force Chief Ranjan Mukherjee described the BJP’s performance in West Bengal as a “historic change,” attributing it to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the party’s strategy, and its organizational strength. He emphasized the importance of a Uniform Civil Code and raised concerns about national security, including issues related to illegal immigration.
Commenting on the election results, Mukherjee stated, “This marks a historic change in Bengal. The current elections and emerging trends indicate a significant transformation. The Special Investigation Report (SIR) played a crucial role in removing improperly included names, such as those who had left the country or were not citizens.”
Mukherjee further noted, “The BJP should have come to power in this state in the 2021 elections, but the level of preparation was not adequate at that time, leading to several incidents before and after the elections. This time, the presence of central forces ensured that there were no irregularities. Everything was clear and transparent. The BJP’s victory is genuine.”
BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala remarked, “The Bharatiya Janata Party is set to form governments in three out of five states. We are forming the government for the third time in Puducherry and Assam, and for the first time in West Bengal. This indicates that Prime Minister Modi’s influence is spreading across the country. The people of West Bengal have also accepted that they want a government under Modi’s leadership that can foster development in the state.”
Delhi BJP spokesperson Dhananjay Giri added, “Prime Minister Modi’s vision and Amit Shah’s approach turned the West Bengal elections into a mission. This mission was demonstrated through the efforts of workers, reaching every street, corner, and voter. Workers and voters were confident that if elections were free and fair, they should vote without fear.”
