Heavy Rainfall Warning for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Jammu & Kashmir

New Delhi, August 9: The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rainfall warning for Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. According to the India Meteorological Department, heavy rain is expected in Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh from August 10 to 13. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are likely to experience intense rainfall from August 9 to 15.

In eastern Uttar Pradesh, significant rainfall is anticipated on August 10, while eastern Rajasthan may see heavy rain from August 9 to 13. Other parts of northwest India may experience scattered rainfall during this period. Thunderstorms and lightning are also possible in Uttarakhand from August 9 to 15 and in western Rajasthan on August 9 and 10.

Heavy rainfall is expected in Himachal Pradesh on August 9 and from August 12 to 15. In Uttarakhand, heavy rain is likely from August 11 to 15. Additionally, heavy rainfall is forecasted in western Uttar Pradesh, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, and Punjab on August 9 and 10; in western Rajasthan on August 11 and 12; and in eastern Rajasthan on August 12 and 13. Very heavy rainfall is expected in eastern Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh on August 10 and 11, and in Uttarakhand on August 9 and 10.

In central India, rainfall is expected in western Madhya Pradesh from August 13 to 15, in eastern Madhya Pradesh from August 12 to 15, and in Chhattisgarh on August 11. There is a possibility of widespread rainfall in western Madhya Pradesh from August 9 to 12 and in eastern Madhya Pradesh from August 9 to 11. Thunderstorms and lightning may occur in Chhattisgarh on August 9 and 10, in Vidarbha on August 10, and in various locations in Chhattisgarh from August 9 to 12.

From August 9 to 15, rainfall is likely in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the Gangetic plains of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, and areas near the Himalayas in West Bengal and Sikkim. Rain is also forecasted in Bihar from August 13 to 15.

In Northeast India, rainfall is expected in Arunachal Pradesh from August 9 to 11, and in Assam and Meghalaya on August 10 and 11. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from August 9 to 15.
