Raipur, August 4 (H.S.) – The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning for Balrampur district in Chhattisgarh for Monday. Alongside, an alert for lightning and thunderstorms has been issued for 16 districts spread across the northern and southern regions of the state. Weather conditions in the central regions are expected to remain generally normal, though significant rainfall is likely after four days.

According to data from the department, Balrampur recorded heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours, while other regions either remained dry or experienced light showers. The highest rainfall was:
14 cm in Daura Kochli
13 cm in Ramchandrapur
9 cm in Ambikapur
7 cm in Surajpur, Latori, and Kusmi
On Monday, light to moderate rainfall is expected at some locations across the state, with isolated incidents of thunder and lightning.
In Raipur, skies remained cloudy since morning, and the weather department has predicted one or two spells of light rain or scattered showers with thunder. The minimum temperature recorded in Raipur was 25.9°C.

The monsoon trough at mean sea level extends from Amritsar, Chandigarh, Shamli, Shahjahanpur, Lucknow, Chhapra, Bankura, Canning, and further southeast to the northeastern Bay of Bengal.
