Harsimrat Kaur Leads Protest Against Punjab Chief Minister, Accuses Him of Corruption

Chandigarh, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Thousands of women marched in protest against Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, led by Shiromani Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal, amidst accusations of corruption and calls for a CBI investigation. The demonstration resulted in the police detaining Kaur and other SAD leaders.

Speaking to reporters, Kaur expressed her outrage, stating that Mann has crossed all limits of shame. She criticized the government for allegedly sending individuals who should be imprisoned abroad at taxpayer expense while incarcerating those who should not be in jail. “Victims are being threatened from within,” she claimed. Kaur emphasized that the Chief Minister’s residence has become a hub of corruption, citing a case where a rape accused was reportedly sent overseas with government funds.

Kaur demanded accountability from Mann, asserting that the truth must come to light. “The Chief Minister is guilty,” she declared, alleging that his entire residence is embroiled in corrupt activities. She pointed out that a victim has publicly stated that the Chief Minister’s wife facilitated the accused’s escape.

The MP lamented the treatment of rape accused under the Aam Aadmi Party’s rule, warning that the day is not far when the daughters of Punjab may retaliate against the party leaders. She questioned how the accused managed to leave the country and called for immediate action from the High Court regarding the case.

Kaur concluded by stating that Mann has no right to remain in office given the circumstances and demanded his resignation.
