Greater Noida, May 12: The police in Greater Noida have successfully apprehended a wanted suspect involved in a case of attempted murder and assault. Authorities recovered a hatchet believed to be used in the crime during the arrest. Following this development, police are now actively searching for other suspects still at large.
According to police reports, the incident occurred on April 24, 2026. The victims filed a complaint at the Jarcha police station, alleging that a group of individuals attacked them and their brothers with intent to kill, assaulted them, and issued death threats. Based on this complaint, a case was registered at the Jarcha police station.
Given the severity of the incident, police have been diligently pursuing the suspects. On May 12, 2026, acting on confidential information and local intelligence, Jarcha police arrested the wanted suspect, Anuj, near the bridge in Dayanagar village. The police also recovered the hatchet used in the crime based on Anuj’s indication.
The arrested individual has been identified as Anuj, son of the late Sarvesh Kumar, a resident of Dhampura village in Sikandarabad, Bulandshahr district. He is approximately 28 years old. Police officials noted that Anuj has a lengthy criminal history with several serious charges filed against him.
According to police records, Anuj faces charges related to assault, threats, vandalism, attempted murder, and serious offenses under the POCSO Act. From 2017 to 2023, multiple cases have been registered against him at the Sikandarabad police station in Bulandshahr.
Authorities have confirmed that another suspect has already been arrested in connection with this case, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining fugitives.
