
Ayodhya, July 29: The sacred occasion of Guru Purnima brought an extraordinary blend of devotion and reverence to Ayodhya. A significant number of devotees and saints gathered from across the country to participate in the celebrations. They performed guru pujan, visited Lord Shri Ram, and engaged in various religious rituals. Long queues of devotees were visible throughout the morning in the holy city.
Mahant Dineendra Das, a trustee of the Ram Temple, shared, “Today, on the occasion of Guru Purnima, a large number of saints and devotees have assembled in Ayodhya. Many people are arriving to have darshan of Ram Lalla, creating an atmosphere of religious enthusiasm throughout the area.”
He mentioned that a tradition of Ramkot Parikrama has been gaining popularity in Ayodhya, with devotees actively participating. Many took part in the parikrama on Guru Purnima, seeking blessings from Lord Shri Ram.
On this day, a multitude of people come to worship their gurus, seek blessings, and perform religious rituals in Ayodhya.
Mahant Rajkumar Das, a member of the religious committee of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, elaborated on the significance of Guru Purnima. He explained that in Sanatan Dharma, the full moon day of Ashadha is celebrated as Vyas Puja and Guru Purnima. On this day, disciples honor their gurus through worship, respect, and reverence.
He emphasized that gurus provide guidance in life, whether in education or spiritual paths. They show individuals the right direction and serve as a medium to bring them closer to God. Gurus dispel ignorance and negativity from a person’s life through their wisdom and blessings. He stated that the path to God is made possible through the grace of a guru.
On Guru Purnima, a large number of devotees also visited the Maniram Das Chhauni in Ayodhya, where Mahant Kamalnayan Das initiated many into spiritual teachings. A Mangala Aarti was conducted, and devotees participated enthusiastically, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere throughout the premises.
Additionally, the Siddh Peeth Hanumangarhi Temple witnessed a massive influx of devotees. Long lines formed as worshippers sought to have darshan of Lord Hanuman, praying for happiness, peace, and prosperity.
