Gautam Gambhir and Sitanshu Kotak Seek Blessings at Mahakaleshwar Temple Ahead of T20 Match

Ujjain, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : Gautam Gambhir, the head coach of India’s cricket team, along with batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on Sunday to seek blessings from Lord Shiva. Their visit comes ahead of the third T20 International match against the West Indies, scheduled to take place at Holkar Stadium in Indore.

The series is currently tied at 1-1 following an exhilarating match in Ranchi, where the West Indies chased down India’s target of 250 runs with nine balls to spare. This victory has set the stage for an exciting showdown in Indore.

Speaking about their visit, Gambhir expressed that he was called to seek blessings and hoped that Lord Mahakal would guide both him and the nation. After the visit, he told reporters, “I was invited here for darshan, and Baba’s blessings have always been with me. I trust that we will perform well, and his blessings will continue to support us.”

Gambhir and Kotak had previously visited the temple in January before a decisive ODI match between India and New Zealand at Holkar Stadium. During that visit, they participated in the divine Bhasma Aarti, spending about two hours in the Nandi Hall praying for the team’s success. After the Aarti, they offered water to Nandi in a traditional ceremony.

Gambhir has made several visits to the temple, including a trip with his family just five months prior. He has also participated in the Bhasma Aarti on multiple occasions. As for the upcoming match, both teams will aim to gain an advantage at Holkar Stadium, known for its batting-friendly conditions and short boundaries. Following their high-scoring outing in Ranchi, India will look to address concerns about their bowling, while the West Indies aim to maintain their momentum from their record-breaking win.
