Wellington, March 12 : Australia all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner, who had tested positive for Covid-19, on Saturday joined her team ahead of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup match against New Zealand. Australia skipper Meg Lanning confirmed Gardner’s availability for the match to be held at the Basin Reserve here on March 13. “Ash Gardner joined us this morning after isolation period. We will see how she goes about in training today. If she is fit and feeling well, she will come in,” said Lanning at a virtual press conference on the eve of the match. Gardner took to Instagram story and shared a picture of her flight ticket from Christchurch, where she had undergone her isolation, to Wellington. The Australia all-rounder tested positive for Covid-19 following a routine RAT, with her positive result confirmed by a PCR test on March 3. Cricket Australia had said, “All remaining Australian players and support staff have tested negative following subsequent RATs, and will proceed with existing plans to travel to Hamilton this evening ahead of their opening match of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup against England on Saturday.”
