He said the coastal state had seen great progress and development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. ”Today, I complete 3 years in the Office as Chief Minister. Goa has seen great progress and development under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble PM @narendramodi ji. In these 3 years, I have focused on human as well as infrastructure development in the State. I would like to thank the people of Goa for their continued support and for reposing their trust in us by giving a decisive mandate in favour of #BJP,” he said in the tweet. Assembly elections in Goa were held on February 14 and results were announced on March 10. However, as the Bharatiya Janata Party has not formed a government, Dr Sawant has been appointed as caretaker chief minister of the state by Governor P S Sreedharan Pillai. Dr Sawant was sworn-in as chief minister of Goa after the demise of then chief minister Manohar Parrikar in 2019. AKM ACL1224
