Mumbai, March 24: New entries on China’s 3C certification platform have unveiled two new book-style models, SM-F9760 (likely the Galaxy Z Fold 8) and SM-F9710 (rumored to be the Galaxy Z Wide Fold). Both models are equipped with 45W wired charging support (15V/3A). While this may not seem groundbreaking, it’s a significant upgrade since Samsung has maintained a 25W charging limit for its Fold lineup since 2020.
This change aligns with previous reports indicating internal design modifications, likely aimed at better managing heat and power delivery. Given the compact nature of foldable devices, such upgrades usually suggest a shift in the internal layout.
Additionally, there are rumors of a battery enhancement. The Fold 8 could finally surpass the existing 4,400mAh limit, with leaks suggesting a capacity of 5,000mAh. If true, this, combined with faster charging, should enhance daily usability.
In contrast, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 (SM-F7760) appears to be sticking with its established formula. Its certification still indicates 25W charging, and the battery capacity is expected to remain largely unchanged. This consistency makes the Flip feel somewhat static compared to the exciting updates for the Fold.
The Galaxy Z Wide Fold may prove to be the more intriguing addition. Early reports suggest it will feature a wider outer display with an 18:9 aspect ratio, unfolding into a more square inner screen. There’s also speculation about the return of S Pen support, which was omitted in the slimmer Fold 7.
While nothing is officially confirmed yet, and 3C listings provide only partial insights, this round of upgrades appears to focus more on practicality than flashiness. These enhancements are likely to be appreciated after a few days of use rather than just on launch day.
