Four killed in protest over Facebook post in Bangladesh

People of the area came out in large number to protest after went viral on social media. While the police were trying to control the crowd which wanted to vent its anger out on the minority community and their properties, some people started pelting stone on the police.

SP of Bhola district today said that the Facebook account was hacked and the person from the minority community had lodged a complaint with the police on Saturday about the hacking. The persons who hacked his account also asked for ransom from him. Persons linked to hacking and posting of the derogatory content have been arrested.

Four platoons of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) personnel have been deployed in Borhanuddin Upazila area since this evening to maintain law and order there.
