Former Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani Passes Away at 57

Visakhapatnam, September 15 (Daily Kiran) : Alla Nani, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, passed away from a cardiac arrest on September 15, 2026, at his home in Visakhapatnam. He was 57 years old.

Known for his political career, Alla Nani began with the Congress Party, winning seats in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Eluru in 2004 and 2009. Later, he joined the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) and contested in the 2014 assembly elections, though he was not successful.

In 2017, he was elected to the Legislative Council as a member of the legislative assembly. He returned to the assembly in 2019 and served as Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Medical and Health under Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy until 2022.

Last year, he switched allegiance from YSRCP to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed his condolences, stating he was deeply shocked by the sudden death of the former Deputy Chief Minister at such a young age. He extended heartfelt sympathy to Alla Nani’s family.

Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan also conveyed his sorrow over the unexpected passing of the senior political leader from Eluru, highlighting Alla Nani’s service as a three-time MLA and once as an MLC. He prayed for the peace of Nani’s soul and offered heartfelt condolences to his family.

Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed profound sadness at Alla Nani’s untimely demise. He remembered Nani’s extensive public service, including his election as an MLA from Eluru three times and his significant contributions as Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister.

Jagan noted that Nani’s passing is an irreplaceable loss for his family and supporters, and he prayed for strength for those grieving. He conveyed deep condolences to Nani’s relatives and supporters.
