Foo Fighters nab three awards beating out competition from Deftones, AC/DC, Paul McCartney

Las Vegas, April 4 : American rock giants Foo Fighters have bagged three awards at the 2022 Grammy Awards, including for Best Rock Performance for “Making a Fire”, Best Rock Song for “Waiting on a War” and Best Rock Album for their tenth studio album “Medicine at Midnight”, beating out competition from AC/DC, Black Pumas, Weezer, Paul McCartney Chris Cornell, Deftones etc. What makes the album special is that this is the final album which they recorded with their long time drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died on March 25 due to what was later reported to be presumably substance abuse. Slated to initially perform at the awards, given the unexpected and tragic death of their bandmate and friend it was obvious that the last thing the band would be able to do right now is deliver a performance, and as expected, none of the band members came to accept the award. Presenter Jimmy Jam accepted the prizes in the band’s absence, “with prayers to their loved ones”. The band to date has gotten 32 nominations and won 15 Grammies becoming titans in the rock scene.
