Five Notorious Criminals Arrested After Encounter in Raebareli

Mumbai, March 25: In a significant operation, police in Raebareli engaged in an encounter with criminals during vehicle checks. This confrontation led to the arrest of five notorious criminals across two different police jurisdictions. Two of the suspects sustained gunshot wounds and were promptly hospitalized.

According to police reports, the clash occurred in the Nasirabad and Bachhrawan areas while officers were conducting vehicle checks. Two gang members, Suraj and Marko, were injured and taken to the hospital, while three others—Manish, Pintu, and Aniket—were apprehended. These individuals are believed to be part of an inter-district gang known for their robberies. Authorities recovered an EcoSport car and a motorcycle from their possession, along with a firearm and ammunition.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Sanjeev Kumar Sinha stated that the vehicle check was underway in Nasirabad when police attempted to stop a suspicious Eco vehicle and motorcycle. The Eco vehicle fled towards Nasirabad, while the motorcyclists lost control and fell. As the criminals attempted to escape, they opened fire on the police. In the exchange, Suraj was shot and subsequently rushed to the hospital.

The control room alerted police stations across the district about the fleeing suspects. Notifications were also sent to neighboring districts, prompting a heightened alert among local law enforcement. The notorious criminals were eventually apprehended in the Bachhrawan area following the encounter.

Assistant Superintendent Sinha confirmed that cases have been registered against the accused, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities are also working to uncover the gang’s network and gather information about their criminal history.
