Fire Breaks Out Near Rajasthan Police Headquarters in Jaipur

A fire ignited in two parked cars near the Rajasthan Police Headquarters in Jaipur, causing panic, but no injuries were reported.

Jaipur, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : On November 2, a fire erupted in two parked vehicles near the Rajasthan Police Headquarters in Jaipur, creating panic among local residents. The incident occurred around 11 a.m. near Gate Number 4 of the police facility.

Witnesses reported seeing smoke rising from a Mahindra Thar, which quickly ignited into flames. A nearby white Tata Harrier also caught fire as the blaze intensified. Officers working inside the headquarters rushed outside upon seeing the flames.

Bystanders gathered at the scene and alerted the fire department. Fire trucks arrived promptly and managed to extinguish the fire. Both vehicles suffered extensive damage, but fortunately, no injuries were reported.

According to police, the Mahindra Thar belongs to Shubham, an employee at a nationalized bank, who purchased the SUV during the 2022 Dhanteras festival. The Tata Harrier, owned by Rahul, also a government bank employee, was acquired in 2025.

Authorities suspect that a short circuit may have caused the fire, although a detailed investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause. Videos captured by onlookers later circulated, drawing attention to the incident.

Assistant Commissioner of Police Poonam confirmed that the fire started in the Mahindra Thar for unknown reasons. She noted that firefighters were called to the scene and successfully controlled the situation.

The Jyoti Nagar police station is currently investigating the incident, which has caused significant alarm in the area, especially due to its proximity to the state police headquarters. Other vehicle owners nearby began moving their cars to safer locations out of fear of the fire spreading.
