Devas, May 3: A severe fire has erupted in a factory located in the industrial area of Devas district, Madhya Pradesh. Shashikant Chaurasia, the officer in charge of the Industrial Area Police Station, provided details about the incident, stating that the factory is involved in the recycling of old papers.
He explained, “Large bundles of old papers are stored here. For some reason, one of these bundles caught fire, which gradually began to spread.”
To prevent the fire from spreading further, heavy equipment, including JCBs, is being used to separate the burning sections. Continuous efforts have been underway for over one to two hours since the fire broke out.
Reports indicate that the fire occurred in a factory situated in the city’s industrial area. Given the severity of the situation, more than ten fire engines were dispatched to the scene. Firefighters have been tirelessly working to extinguish the flames while administrative officials monitor the situation closely.
Factory manager Srinivas stated that the cause of the fire is still unknown. He mentioned, “We need to investigate how the fire started. Currently, we have not been able to assess the damage.” The blaze has destroyed paper and other materials stored in the factory premises, leading to concerns about significant losses.
Tehsildar Sapna Sharma also arrived at the scene to assess the situation. She confirmed that the administration is fully alert and making every possible effort to control the fire. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries so far.
The fire was so intense that the fire department had to work throughout the night to extinguish it. Upon receiving the alert, multiple fire brigade teams rushed to the scene and began their efforts to bring the fire under control, which continued late into the night.
Local residents reported that the flames and smoke were clearly visible from a distance, creating a chaotic atmosphere in the surrounding area. However, timely intervention by the fire department and police teams helped manage the situation effectively.
An investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the fire. The administration has assured that a thorough inquiry will be carried out, and appropriate action will be taken against those found responsible.
