Enhanced Security Measures in Varanasi Ahead of PM Modis Visit

Varanasi, April 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, for a two-day trip starting Tuesday. In light of this visit, Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal addressed reporters regarding the security arrangements in place for April 28 and 29.

Commissioner Agarwal announced that a significant event, the Nari Vandan Rally, will take place at BL Ground on Tuesday, expecting around 40,000 women participants. He emphasized that since the rally is exclusively for women, the security will be managed by female police officers, with approximately 1,500 women officers deployed at the venue.

The entire assembly area will be monitored by CCTV, and anti-drone systems have been installed. Quick Response Teams (QRT) and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) units equipped with advanced weaponry will also be present. Barricades have been set up at the venue and along PM Modi’s route, with around 2,000 police personnel assigned to ensure safety.

To minimize inconvenience for the public, the police have planned diversions to facilitate smooth traffic flow.

The atmosphere in Varanasi is filled with excitement as women express their joy over the visit. They plan to give a grand welcome, including conch shell blowing, flower showers, and traditional Aarti to honor the Prime Minister.

PM Modi will participate in a women’s conference in Varanasi at around 5 PM on April 28, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation for various development projects worth approximately ₹6,350 crores. He will also address the gathering.

On April 29, PM Modi will visit the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple for prayers at around 8:30 AM before heading to Hardoi, where he will inaugurate the Ganga Expressway at approximately 11:30 AM and address another gathering.
