Election Commission Functions Within Constitution, Youth Should Work for National Interest: Nandkishore Gurjar

Ghaziabad, October 2 (Daily Kiran) : Ghaziabad’s MLA Nandkishore Gurjar has recently commented on the protests led by women at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. He stated that the manner of these protests is inappropriate, emphasizing that the youth should prioritize the country’s welfare.

When asked about Akhilesh Yadav’s absence from the protests, Gurjar expressed indifference, stating he is unconcerned about who participates. He alleged that the protesters are the same individuals who previously stifled democracy and imposed emergency measures in the country. Gurjar also accused the Congress party of interfering with the judiciary and constitutional institutions.

Addressing concerns about the Election Commission, Gurjar asserted that it operates impartially and is not subject to external pressures. The BJP legislator noted that when some political parties lose elections, they question the integrity of the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), despite having conducted elections using ballot papers while in power. He claimed that opposition parties are undermining the electoral process to mask their political failures.

He further alleged that certain individuals are discussing seizing Parliament and creating a situation similar to that in Sri Lanka, although he did not provide concrete evidence to support these claims. Regarding the non-bailable warrant issued against Chandrashekhar Azad of the Azad Samaj Party by a Ghaziabad court, Gurjar emphasized the importance of respecting the judiciary.

He acknowledged that political commitments can sometimes prevent individuals from attending court hearings and expressed hope that Azad would resolve this matter.

In response to AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi’s statements about alliances in Uttar Pradesh, Gurjar made serious allegations against him, labeling Owaisi a “radical jihadist” and asserting that his politics could exacerbate communal tensions in the country. He called on the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh to restrict Owaisi’s entry into the state.

Gurjar also criticized Akhilesh Yadav in light of the upcoming Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, suggesting that the number of seats won by the Samajwadi Party in the previous election should not be viewed as a significant achievement. He predicted that the party would not secure as many seats in the forthcoming election.
