In this pose, the individual lies face down and lifts both legs, creating a shape similar to an arrow. This practice strengthens the lower abdominal muscles, enhances back strength, and fortifies the entire core area.
Practicing Shalabhasana offers numerous benefits: it strengthens core muscles, improves digestive function, and alleviates constipation. Additionally, it reduces back and lower back pain while increasing overall body strength and endurance. It also helps combat fatigue and boosts energy levels.
Experts recommend starting by lying face down on a mat. Place your chin on the ground, keep your arms alongside your body with palms facing down. Inhale deeply and gradually lift both legs as high as possible. Hold this position for a few seconds, then exhale and slowly lower your legs. Begin with 3-4 repetitions and gradually increase as you become more comfortable.
