Sheikhpura, April 25: A review meeting was convened under the chairmanship of Suharsh Bhagat, Director of Land Records and Survey, at the Manthan Hall in the Samaranalay. The primary aim of this meeting was to assess the progress of special surveys and settlement works in the district and to provide guidelines for the swift resolution of pending issues. It is imperative that the surveying work in the district is completed within the stipulated time frame. Moreover, merely completing the work is not sufficient; it must also meet quality standards. Should any technical or practical issues arise on the ground, they should be reported immediately to the relevant senior officials for resolution. Any personnel or officials exhibiting negligence or laxity in their duties will face strict administrative action.
During the meeting, the director discussed a serious issue where it has been observed that land belonging to one brother is being registered in his name while the land share of another brother is being declared as ‘government land.’ He instructed that such sensitive cases be thoroughly investigated to ensure that no landowner faces injustice.
The status of the survey process across all 284 mouzas was reviewed. The final publication (Form 20) has been completed in 223 mouzas, while 61 mouzas remain pending at the levels of Form 08 and Form 14. The director has issued a strict order to complete the pending processes of Forms 08 and 14 in the remaining 61 mouzas promptly, ensuring that Sheikhpura district maintains a better ranking in the state.
At the conclusion of the meeting, in accordance with district tradition, guests were honored. The District Magistrate presented a statue of Lord Vishnu to the chief guest, Suharsh Bhagat, as a mark of respect. Additionally, to enhance coordination in district development and revenue works, the District Magistrate, Additional Collector, and Deputy Collector of Land Reforms were also honored with plants. Senior officials from the revenue department, amin, kanungo, and surveying staff were present at the meeting.
