Kolkata, August 10: In a recent statement, West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh criticized former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding law and order in the state. He claimed that there has been significant improvement in law enforcement compared to previous administrations.
Addressing concerns about law and order, Ghosh stated that anyone acting against the law would face police action. He accused certain individuals in Bengal of creating a hostile environment and questioned who incited them to do so.
Ghosh asserted that these individuals were operating under influence, engaging in anti-social and anti-national activities. He raised concerns about whether anyone had been punished or charged in such cases, alleging that the police merely observed during these incidents.
When asked about the attacks on Mamata Banerjee’s convoy, Ghosh remarked that these incidents were a direct result of her actions. He emphasized that police should take action against anyone violating the law.
Regarding the attacks on Banerjee, Ghosh stated that if someone breaks the law, police will respond. He also made sharp comments about the political climate and the growing opposition against the former Chief Minister. While he noted that no one had physically assaulted her yet, he hinted that evidence might emerge in the future. He referred to Banerjee’s gender as a “plus point” for her.
In his remarks about Banerjee, Ghosh clarified that he was not making personal accusations. However, he referenced comments made by Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh about Banerjee in the past. He pointed out that many of these remarks are on record and have been featured in media videos.
On the RG Kar rape and murder case, Ghosh stated that merely counting the years would not yield results. He claimed that after his government took office, the case file was reopened upon receiving a petition, and new investigations were ordered. He assured that anyone found guilty during the investigation would certainly face punishment.
