Dhruv Shyoran Leads Andhra Open Golf Championship with Impressive Round

Visakhapatnam, April 7: Dhruv Shyoran has taken the lead on the first day of the Andhra Open Golf Championship 2026, scoring an impressive four-under 67. The tournament is being held at the East Point Golf Club (EPGC) in Visakhapatnam.

The 31-year-old golfer achieved his top position on the leaderboard by making an eagle on the par-5 12th hole, followed by three consecutive birdies from holes one to three. He launched a long 372-yard drive on the 12th hole, completing the eagle with a remarkable putt.

Bengaluru’s Chikkarangappa S. and Khalin Joshi are tied for second place, each scoring three-under 68, just one shot behind Shyoran.

This tournament, boasting a prize pool of ₹1 crore, has modified the par-5 seventh hole to a 477-yard par-4, bringing the total course par to 71.

Currently ranked 11th in the PGTI Order of Merit, Dhruv expressed that he gained good momentum after the eagle on the 12th hole. Despite losing a few shots towards the end, he remains satisfied with his performance.

Khalin Joshi also shared his contentment with his game, noting that reading the greens was challenging, but he managed to make good birdies and is excited for the upcoming rounds.

Angad Cheema is tied for fourth place with a score of 69, while Saptak Talwar stands in tenth place with a score of 70.

A highlight of the day was Nepal’s Subash Tamang achieving a hole-in-one on the 144-yard par-3 11th hole. Tamang finished the day with a score of 70, ending in a tie for tenth place.
